The Laser anti-static wrist strap is a safety device used to channel static electricity to a proper grounding surface while handling sensitive computer equipment. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage occurs when a release of stored static electricity travels from something such as a person's body into a conductor of a different potential, such as a computer being repaired. Electrostatic Discharge can kill electronic components quickly and silently, you may not evn know it has happened and may void your warranty. If you open a PC case to upgrade or remove components you should be wearing one. Protect your investment. | | Requirements: | Grounding point; usually the PC chassis. Leave the PC power cable plugged in and turn the power off at the socket. Connect the alligator clip to the chassis as close to the power supply as possible.
